Hypnosis itself is a meditative state that helps you tap into the creative part of your brain. During a course of sessions, hypnotherapy helps you to let go of stress that has often been held on to for years. Hypnotherapy also gives you a range of self-management techniques that give you more control of troublesome thoughts and feelings.
Hypnotherapy can be used to help with a wide range of issues. The most common things I help with are stress, anxiety and depression. With most people, a course of 5 or 6 sessions can be sufficient to improve the symptoms of many issues. Habits like smoking can often be treated with just a single session.
During a typical session of hypnotherapy, we make use of the most powerful psychological tool that we have – our imagination. Most people use their imagination in unhelpful ways, thinking of negative scenarios that cause stress and anxiety. By learning to visualise the positive changes you want to create in your life, your mind can soon begin to feel more calm, relaxed and confident in a range of situations.
